Sound familiar?

You work hard and deliver, but other people seem to get noticed more.

You find it uncomfortable to talk about your achievements.
You assume your manager already knows what you contribute.
You know you're capable of more, but you're not sure how to show you're ready.
You expect good work to speak for itself, and it doesn't always.

Being good at what you do and helping other people recognise your value are two different skills. This workbook teaches the second one.

Who's behind it

Hi, I'm Jancis

Are you the person who gets everything done? The one who sorts out the problems, and the one everyone comes to when they want something done properly?

I was too. I worked hard, put in the effort others didn't, and went above and beyond what was asked of me. And I was overlooked for promotion, again and again.

It wasn't because I wasn't good enough. It was because I wasn't telling anyone what I was doing, so they didn't know.

That changed when I started to recognise my value and talk about it. I created this workbook so you can do the same.

Today I'm a facilitator, leadership development consultant and Insights Discovery Licensed Practitioner, and I've delivered leadership development programmes for organisations in recruitment, utilities, transport, healthcare, retail and professional services.

Know yourself. Own your value. Follow your arrow.

Questions

Good to know

Can I print it?

Yes. It's designed for A4, with room to write. You can also fill it in on screen.

How long does it take?

Each module takes no more than 30 minutes, and you can go at your own pace.

Do I need to tell my manager I'm doing it?

No. It's your own space to reflect. Module 5 helps you prepare for a conversation with your manager if and when you want one.

Who is it for?

It's for the person who gets everything done, sorts out the problems and is who everyone comes to when they want something done properly, but who doesn't always get the recognition for it.

Can my employer buy copies for a team?

Yes. Email jancis@followyourarrow.co.uk about team copies or running the join-along sessions for your organisation.

What if it isn't right for me?

If you're not happy with the result, you get a 100% refund. Just email jancis@followyourarrow.co.uk.

Some of the most valuable things about you feel ordinary because you've been doing them for years.

Take the time to recognise them. Then give other people the chance to see them too.
